IN THE STOMACH OF THE EARTH

The first room of the Experience Space is designed to satisfy the curiosity of those interested in rocks and minerals. One can learn about the rocks typical for Mátra. The minerals that make up these rocks become revealed. By using spectacular, fine-grained images, an interactive computer program also shows the chemical composition of the crystals in the images.

MIOCENE SEA AND VOLCANO

Entering into the second room of the exhibition, the visitor is greeted by a scene that is much better to experience in a museum while watching an animation film than to experience it live. The eruption of a volcano can be watched.

PLEISTOCENE CLIMATE EXHIBITION

An interactive program demonstrates where the science of humanity is now in the highly exciting and diverse research of the evolution of our species.  Who was Lucy, Gabi, Twiggy and Samu? We only tell you that they were not members of a pop band. Those who come and try the interactive programs of the room carefully will find out the answer.

HOLOCENE HUMAN EXHIBITION

The topic of the last room is the geochronological present era, and the impact of human civilisation and the man-made environmental changes on the life of our planet.

ORCZY GARDEN

A part of the Mátra Museum is a two-hectare historic English garden, which is thematically closely linked to the programs to be implemented in the experience space.
