THE PROJECT OWNER

The Hungarian Natural History Museum founded the Foundation for the Hungarian Natural History Museum in September 1991.

The Foundation is an independent legal entity with nationwide activities, headquartered in H-1088 Budapest, Baross Street. 13. The Foundation is open and can be accessed by any domestic and foreign natural person or legal entity, if it agrees with the goals of the Foundation and can support those goals financially.

The enhancement, preservation, processing and publication of the collections of the Hungarian Natural History Museum and their presentation within the framework of exhibitions do not only serve the science and the public, but also the protection of the environment and nature. The Foundation supports the above-mentioned activities of the Museum with financial means, therefore its main objectives are the following:

– promoting the education of all citizens of Hungary in the field of natural science;
– contributing continuously to the improvement and enhancement of education in the field of natural science and the development of science-oriented individual skills and competences;
– supporting scientific research and the widescale dissemination of its results;
– contributing to the completion, expansion and preservation of the collections of the Museum – as a part of our cultural heritage – by making full use of its tools and potential.

The chairman of the Board of Trustees is Dr. Gábor Csorba, and its members are: Dr. Pálné Treiber and Zsolt Kovács.
